The ROPS structure on the 417 wheeled loaders has been redesigned. The width of the A-pillars is the same as the rear of the machine, enlarging the cab interior and the panoramic windscreen. The auxiliary circuit switches and controls are now on the right A-pillar.
There are two colour LCD screens for navigating the working menus. The JCB 417 wheel loader's EcoMAX engine can be adapted to run on lower quality fuels, saving you money. Maximum power and torque are produced at low revs of 1500-1600rpm for effective mating with the gearbox and hydraulics.
As there is no DPF, there are no unnecessary additional fuel lines or potentially high temperatures associated with the filter regeneration process. The fuel that would have been used to regenerate your DPF is used for ongoing production tasks.High back-off brakes reduce frictional resistance during on-road driving and reloading; this improves fuel efficiency, and a viscous-coupled fan automatically adjusts speed according to ambient temperature, optimising cooling, saving fuel and reducing noise. An innovative variable displacement pump powers a block of load-responsive valves, drawing power only when required, ensuring precise, efficient control of the loader. Operating specialised mounted implements on the JCB 417 is made easy with in-cab, proportional flow control of the auxiliary circuit.
Our 4-speed transmission gives you a choice of gear ratios for a wide range of applications. In addition, the operator of your loader can select manual or automatic shift modes at the push of a button.

The bucket cushioning - JCB Smoothride - reduces shock from the load and thus reduces load spillage and structural stresses, as well as increasing operator comfort. The travel speed at which the system is engaged is set from inside the cab with the help of the state-of-the-art Command Plus controls.

The JCB 417 uses a double hydraulic gear pump, providing 156l/min for fast cycles and excellent multifunctional operation. At the same time, a variable blade geometry turbocharger provides increased performance at low engine speeds, which reduces duty cycles and increases machine traction.

Open differentials are ideal in hard ground conditions.

Axles with a limited-slip mechanism are excellent for soft, muddy soil conditions.
The standard high-torque arm (type HT) allows parallel lifting and the use of multiple suspended equipment, with excellent visibility of the attachment at all heights. The optional high lifting arm (type HL) allows work to be carried out with loading at greater heights.

The drive decoupling function allows you to decouple the drive for more effective and efficient control of your loader. This function controls traction through the transmission, directing maximum power to your loader's hydraulics, reducing brake wear and fuel consumption.

The centre joint on the JCB 417 loader has a reinforced box section, a reinforced centre pin and an oversized bushing, as well as double tapered roller bearings on the lower box joints. This design can easily handle vertical as well as horizontal loads.
Finite element analysis and extensive hardware testing ensure excellent structural strength and durability. We use state-of-the-art manufacturing processes such as robotic machining, precision paint technology and modern assembly techniques to achieve the highest levels of production quality.A solid cast rear counterweight protects the rear of the JCB 417 wheel loader, including the cooling block and tail lights, from damage. The hoses are carefully routed through the central joint and fastened, well away from any pinch points.

The steering cylinders are positioned high up and are well protected against possible impacts and damage at the work site. Additional protection is provided by the fixed anti-impact wing edges and overlaps.

This wheel loader has steel fluid reservoirs, which are exceptionally good protection against leaks, much better than the plastic reservoirs prized by some competitors.

On the new JCB 417 wheel loader, rear-view mirrors have been installed at the front of the A-pillars for improved visibility. Interior mirrors, heated exterior mirrors and bonnet mirrors provide excellent visibility around the entire machine.
The access steps on this loader are sloping, evenly spaced and complemented by well-placed hand grips to ensure safe contact with the machine. Non-slip walkways and additional optional hand grips ensure operators can move safely around the machine.The full wing aprons have been carefully designed to minimise mud splashes for all tyre types. This design improves safety and reduces dirt accumulation on the machine.The cab is shock-mounted, meets ROPS / FOPS standards and protects against dust through positive pressure. You can choose ambient air filtration or recirculating carbon filters. The battery and toolbox are lockable for better protection.

Our optional rear-view camera displays an unobstructed view behind the machine on the in-cab colour monitor. With optional JCB LED lighting, excellent night-time visibility is guaranteed.
