JCB 457 AGRI
A powerful new MTU diesel engine was used, meeting Tier 4 / Stage IV emission standards without the need for costly and inefficient DPFs.
The new JCB CommandPlus cab provides exceptional operator comfort and performance. Unparalleled visibility, driver position and seat-mounted controls provide complete control.
The state-of-the-art design provides easier service from ground level, thanks to a one-piece, automatically opening bonnet. Tailor-made service packages and the best dealer support complete the offering.
A machine developed and built to meet all the expectations associated with a wheeled loader.
- 262 hp maximum engine power
- 20534 kg operating weight
- 3.5 m³ bucket capacity
Our range of wheel loaders incorporates customer input at every stage of the design process, so that they are tailored to meet buyers' requirements. These requirements include safety, performance, ease of operation and maintenance, productivity, reliability and comfort.
As a result, every loader we produce, from the 2-tonne compact hydrostatic drive models to the huge 24-tonne machines with powershift transmission, shares the same DNA.
Each of our wheel loaders is designed first and foremost for high productivity, superior reliability, low maintenance and high versatility. We offer various loader models to meet the requirements of all customers. There is also a whole range of different equipment options and additional attachments.
In terms of performance, the JCB wheel loader is all about high power, high torque, high power-to-weight ratio, powerful breakout forces and excellent traction.
The standard cooling module is a large, single-sided unit that can be cleaned quickly, easily and safely.
Thanks to the grouped test sockets, you can easily check the pressure in the brake, steering and hydraulic systems.
The main fuse and relay panel has been relocated next to the door for easier access.
The use of excellent components (MTU engine, ZF gearbox and axles, Rexroth pumps and Parker valve blocks) in the new JCB 457 AGRI wheeled loader has made exceptional machine longevity standard.
This machine avoids the waste of time and money associated with DPF replacements, as its MTU engine operates only with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a selective catalytic reduction (DOC) system. This solution also contributes to fuel savings. The powerful variable displacement twin piston pump can produce a massive flow of 323 l/min providing fast duty cycles and multifunctional capability. With a maximum breakout force of 172 kN, this wheel loader has sufficient potential for extremely difficult load work.
High-torque (HT) loader arms are perfect for parallel lifting and multi-accessory work. High and super high lift options will ensure your machine can work with loads at great heights.
The innovative electronic management system of this machine can implement a gradual disengagement of the drive to ensure effective, efficient control of the loader. This function controls traction through the transmission, redirecting maximum power to the loader's hydraulics and reducing brake wear and fuel consumption.
On the new JCB AGRI wheel loader you have a choice of three axle options: open differentials for hard ground, limited slip differentials for soft, muddy terrain or open differentials with automatic front differential lock for variable traction conditions.
JCB's precision machining techniques ensure high tolerances and accurate pin and bushing locations. State-of-the-art manufacturing processes such as robotic machining, high-precision paint technology and modern assembly techniques are used to achieve the highest levels of quality. The new MTU engine has everything you need for everyday loader operation, including a robust design that can cope with sudden load changes on subsequent jobs.
The main joint of this wheel loader has a reinforced box section, a reinforced central pin, an oversized bushing and two tapered roller bearings on the lower box joints. This arrangement easily withstands vertical and horizontal loads.
A solid rear counterweight protects the rear of your JCB 457, including the rear lights and cooling block, from damage. Hoses passing through the main joint are carefully guided and secured, well away from jam points.
Controlling the loader is now easier than ever - all controls are mounted in the seat, moving with the movements of the suspended seat. All switches and auxiliary circuit controls for easier access have been placed on the right A-pillar.There are two colour LCD screens for navigating the working menus. One of them can display the rear camera image. This simple, purpose-designed interface is easy and intuitive to use with the optional control knob.
You can choose the control system best suited to your operators: a single-lever joystick or a multi-lever version, both with electro-hydraulic functions for exceptional precision.
The all-new ventilation system has nine defogging vents and six ventilation vents to ensure visibility and operator comfort in all situations. In addition, the system operates quietly.
Following extensive ergonomic studies of the operator environment, we developed the ‘Command Driving Position’ system, which ensures optimal positioning of controls, taking into account the drivers' diverse physiques.
To save fuel, there is an engine idle shutdown function that safely applies the brakes and shuts down the machine after a pre-programmed time. The hydraulic cooling fan automatically reacts to the ambient temperature and adjusts its speed to optimise cooling and reduce fuel consumption.
An additional benefit is lower noise levels in the workplace.
Choose our five-speed gearbox with torque converter lock - you get 100% efficiency in gears two to five. Shorter gear ratios mean the engine runs at lower revs; resulting in lower fuel consumption.
Braking at wheel speed means that the brakes on the new JCB 457 loader operate at the same speed as the wheels which reduces heat and friction and increases fuel efficiency.
JCB's innovative variable displacement pumps power a load-sensing valve block that draws power only when required. Unloaded control valves in the valve block allow the arms to be lowered by gravity, without hydraulic input; this also reduces fuel consumption.
